Fuckin’ Tek, man. Never change, baby. The more I think of it, the more crazy that whole A-Rod fight becomes, because Jason Varitek is the calmest, most level-headed dude I think I’ve ever met in my entire life. There could be a catastrophic event going on, and he’d be calmer than PFT before the anesthesia took over.

But WOW did this video make me feel old. Twelve years ago tonight, the Red Sox broke the curse by winning their first World Series title in 86 years against the St. Louis Cardinals. It was the best moment in Boston sports history, arguably the greatest moment in sports history in general, and there was no bigger party on planet earth than right here in the city of Boston when they finally won it all.

Now, 12 years later, the party’s over, and here sits the captain, relaxing at his home in Georgia, packin’ a fatty, getting showered with silly string by his wife, with his daughters loving every second of it. Life comes at you fast, man. Long live the Captain.
