The HBO Profile On Eagles LS Jon Dorenbos And How He Found Magic After His Dad Killed His Mom Is Must Watch Stuff
Dorenbos on HBO's Real Sports: Part II from Nick Piccone on Vimeo.
We’ve been down this alley before with Dorenbos and his past, but it’s always good enough for a reminder. In fact, I’m pretty sure this is almost the exact same profile Real Sports did on the long snapper years ago, just with the America’s Got Talent parts added. Respect the snake it till ya make it by the darker Wayne Brady. But I can’t even imagine what it had to be like for Dorenbos to lose his mother at the hands of his father at the age of 12. To overcome that tragedy, literally fake his way into a D-1 scholarship at UTep (full, hilarious story of how he sent in his buddy’s highlight tape is in the segment), and become an NFL veteran for over a decade is nothing short of remarkable. The cherry on top being he’s a freaking magician and a great person to match. Great for him
Overall, the guy’s probably the biggest Average Joe in the game today. He’s a freaking long snapper and is one of the most beloved and respected Eagles from within and outside the organization. And yes, the man has to be a magician to out kick his coverage this much with his (now ex) wife. She was probably put in a trance so deep even Peter from Office Space would feel bad.
