My Friend's Dog Got Diagnosed With ADD... Wait, What?

So yesterday I went over to my friend’s house and was greeted by her puppy. He jumps, he nibbles a bit, he runs in circles a lot, he’s an eight month old golden doodle so you kind of expect these things. But in the midst of his jumping she informed me that she’s sorry, but he got diagnosed with ADD. Ummmm, come again? The eight month old puppy has ADD? Sounds like someone’s veterinarian has a kid who’s about to start college in the fall. I don’t mean to sound like one of those old people who say shit like, “Back in my day we didn’t have ADD. You either paid attention in class or you got whacked upside the head by one of the nuns.” I recognize that ADD is a thing. Having said that, there’s no WAY doggie ADD is a thing. It just can’t be. Back in my day, puppies didn’t have ADD, they were just puppies. They ran around and acted like maniacs. They didn’t get diagnosed with conditions, they got diagnosed with severe cases of being adorable. I’m going to need to find this vet and pay him (or her! No sexism here) a little visit, no one takes advantage of my friends like this. Doggie ADD, now I’ve heard it all.
