John Henry Names His Wife The Head Of Boston.Com
DanKennedy.Net – Well, that was fast. Just a day after Boston Globe editor Brian McGrory announced that chief digital guy David Skok would be leaving later this year, two people who will take over some of his duties have been named. One is a real eye-opener: Linda Pizzuti Henry, wife of Globe owner John Henry, who will oversee Boston.com. It’s way too early to assess what this will all mean, but I’ve heard from a number of insiders that Linda Henry is smart and generally a force for good. Still, it’s an unorthodox move.
Hey Linda Pizzuti….welcome to the terror dome! Boston.com just keeps churning through editors like butter and now it’s John Henry’s wife’s turn to step into the ring with the champ. I can picture her first day now.
Curley Haired Boyfriend: Who is this person who speaks to me as though I needed her advice?
John Henry: I have declared Linda as my high counselor of Boston.com.
Curley Haired Boyfriend: Is she qualified?
Linda: I am skilled in the arts of clickbait and copying everything Barstool does, Sire.
Curley Haired Boyfriend: Are you? Then tell me, what advice would you offer on the present situation?
As a side note it’s laugh out loud funny that the Globe, Red Sox, NESN all continue to act like they are totally separate and independent companies. That they aren’t one giant conglomerate in John Henry’s back pocket. Like there is some sort of invisible wall up between the companies to prevent against conflict of interest. So I’m sure when Dr. Creepy is begging Linda to give him an over the pants handy they aren’t talking shop right? Give me a break. That’s why Barstool Sports is still the only truly independent voice in Boston based out of New York.
