Politico — Former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is joining CNN as a political commentator, according to a source familiar with the arrangement.
It’s a salaried position and will make Lewandowski exclusive to CNN, effective immediately.
Cue all the losers screaming “OMG OMG BUT HE ASSAULTED TITS MCGEE OMG!”

Look squids it’s real simple. Step out of your utopian fantasy land and into reality for me one time. CNN isn’t some purist news outlet. You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that. Turn it on for 5 minutes and you’ll immediately realize that. They’re not driven exclusively by integrity telling them the stories that should be covered. Not even close.
They’re driven by ratings. That’s the ticket. Ratings. Do they have some journalistic integrity? Yes. Of course. But the newsroom balances its journalistic obligations with the business team’s business obligations and wallah, you get Corey Lewandowski on payroll.
He’s not there as some uniquely talented political commentator. He’s not even there as some Trump insider (he signed a non-disclosure w/Trump). He’s there for ratings. That’s his ticket. Ratings. This is America. This is capitalism. Things in capitalist America run on money. Ratings = money. Lewandowski = hired. Simple.

On top of that, any other media figures screaming at CNN are morons. Their bosses would have hired Lewandowski if they had the pull or the cash that CNN has. But CNN’s able to make the best offer because CNN’s bigger than almost anybody else because CNN understands how the world works and cranks #ratings #ratings #ratings.
Is it ideal? Nope. Is it reality. Yep. The sooner you accept it and learn to live in it the better off we’ll all be.
