The Lonely Island X The Roots "I'm On A Boat" Remix Is A New American Classic

I didn’t think there were many ways Lonely Island’s “I’m On A Boat” could get any better. Strong visuals, impeccable lyricism, and all around good vibes that immediately bring you back to past time spent on any sort of floatation device. The song of our generation really. Now mix in Questlove and the gang, a few kazoos, a child’s xylophone and a dude playing the banana, and what you have is pure fire flames. Obviously.

All honesty, I wouldn’t be the slightest bit surprised if we saw this flying up the charts over the next fews weeks. Today’s music is all about putting yourself out there. Weird sounds, different voices, and odd uses of instruments, and this had it all. I mean you didn’t see any kazoo’s being used on Views or Lemonade. You don’t see Timberlake out there shredding it on the banana like homie in the corner now do you?

It’s that sort of creativity that’ll bring this remix of what was already an american classic right back to the top of the charts. Music is all about individuality and bringing something different, and from the clouds, Lonely Island just did it all by remixing the heater of a generation back into the heater of Summer ’16, right in everyone’s faces.

Eat your heart out Bieber.
