The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs Are Changing Their Name To The Cheesesteaks And The Uni's Are FIRE

MLB.com – Yo, check out this jawn: Lehigh Valley Cheesesteaks The Lehigh Valley IronPigs love food, and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs love Philadelphia. So what do you get when you combine the two? No, not a Liberty Bell replica made of bacon or a William Penn statue carved out of ham. You get this: A “Salute to Philadelphia” promotion in which the Triple-A Phillies affiliate will change its name to the “Cheesesteaks.” Finally, the northeast has it’s own version of “Fresno Tacos.” It happens on June 10.

Hat me and hat me now! Those things are as fresh as fresh gets. Ukee pimping out The Fresh Prince should put the assess in the seats, too. Good for the Iron Pigs with this marketing campaign. And by the cut of the beef it looks like they’re rolling out the Pat’s generic style chopped meat. Personally I prefer the Steve’s kinds of slabs, but to each their own. It all goes to and sooner than later comes out of the same place. And it’s on June 10th, perfectly timed with Ryan Howards first probable rehab stint of the season. Cheesesteaks and Golden Sombreros on a beautiful minor league baseball night. Only in Allentown.

As always for every related blog, we dish out Smitty’s Official Philly Cheesesteak Power Rankings (FUCK Barclay Prime and their $100 cheesesteak, for I have too much pride and too little money to eat):

-Steve’s Prince Of Steaks (NE)

-Delassandro’s (N 4th st)

-Sonny’s (Olde City, get her with bacon and you’ve died and gone to diabetic heaven) and

-Jim’s (South St.)

-John’s Roast Pork (Snyder Ave, VERY underrated and only open select hours)

– Phil’s (23rd and Passyunk)

-Chubby’s (Henry Ave)

-Pat’s (9th and Passyunk)

-Joe’s (NE, would be ranked 3rd if their name was still Chink’s. Definitely affects the taste for some reason.)

-Shank’s Original (Delaware Ave)

-Geno’s (9th and Passyunk. SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE)

-Homeless guy slinging mystery meat off of I-95.
