The Flyers Continue Their Crusade Against 3-on-3 Overtime, This Time Just Giving Away Free Empty Net Goals

It was just 2 days ago that I wrote this blog about how much the Flyers apparently hate 3-on-3 overtimes. Just as a quick recap, the first mandatory 3-on-3 overtime for the Flyers ended with no score as Brayden Schenn took a penalty halfway through the period that pretty much turned it into a regular overtime. The 2nd mandatory 3-on-3 overtime for the Flyers was cancelled because of that jackass Pope Francis. The 3rd 3-on-3 overtime ended with Keith Yandle being awarded a penalty shot and stuffing one top shelf on Steve Mason. And now this from last night…

Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. Truth be told, I didn’t get a chance to watch last night’s game (I was too busy down at PPL Park watching the Union rip out my heart for the 2nd year in a row), but apparently I didn’t miss much last night. However, this moment right here could very well end up being a perfect metaphor for the 2015-16 Philadelphia Flyers. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it isn’t, but I’m actually dreading having to write the season preview blog because my optimism in this city is at an all time low. At least LaBarbera (who I can’t even believe is still in the league) showed a little grit and went with the stick toss instead of just letting that bag of dicks Jacob Josefson score for free. Probably could have put a little more velocity behind that bad boy though.

P.S. – What is it with Flyers goalies being complete dipshits with the puck against the Devils?
