Bachelor Party of Tennessee Fans Arm Wrestles UF Gator Players In A Steak 'n Shake At 3 AM After The Game

[Outkick the Coverage]

Such a great story to bring back from your bachelor party. Ok so you traveled all the way down to Gainesville dressed in bright UT Orange to have your hearts and lungs and guts ripped out right in front of your eyes. Heartbreaking loss where it looked like you had it in the bag…

Only to have your dumbass coach rip it all away from you.

But as a little bit of consolation, you get to leave town with a sweet story?

We had a group of 11 of us travel to Gainesville for a bachelor party. All of us are in our late 20s to late 30s, athletic for our ages, but still basically well past our primes and lift beer bottles more than we do weights these days. As painful as the loss was on Saturday night, we were going to rally and have a good night for our buddy which, for the most part, we did. The hotel we stayed at was about five miles from campus and had a Steak ‘n Shake basically in the parking lot that we ended up in each night. After a night of drinking downtown and enduring the pity looks, sketchy cab rides, and some taunts as one would expect from Gator Nation, we go in at about 3:00am and there are eight or nine of us left to eat. The restaurant was basically empty save for a couple people sitting at the counter and a booth of four that were not football fans. Soon after we sat down, three guys (safe to say they looked athetic and large enough to think they were “someone”) walk in and I notice the same basic looks we had gotten all night – the half smile, talking to their own while still keeping an eye on us, and generally acting like: “Do we want to sit here?” about us. As they move, I tell them that “It’s OK, we’ve had the same looks all night but we’re over it for now and having a good enough night now.” One of our other buddies says “I don’t know, they look big enough to actually play for Florida” to which they reply “We do.”

We end up talking to them about the game some and what they were doing/thinking during some of the calls that were made and they were actually really nice to us, happy to talk without any ill will. As we are talking 4 or 5 more of their teammates walked in with some of their friends as well. We each just end up going back to ordering our food and eating. Somehow, the conversation turned towards arm-wrestling, and how one of the guys with us (Dustin Fults) never loses arm-wrestling matches dating back to college. His buddy that was there too said he would routinely make money by getting people to bet they can beat him in arm-wrestling matches at bars. The best man for this bachelor trip (who is a known pot-stirrer) tells him “you are going to arm wrestle them.” After some convincing, the best man turns around and tells the players, in some terms, get your biggest guy and arm wrestle Dustin. After some laughing and pushing the subject, they get Nick Buchanan who is a freshman offensive tackle to take him on. The longest video attached with the bald guy is the result of this one.

While this is going on, two other Tennessee fans that were sitting at the counter watched and after it was over had similar stories apparently, because one of them says to the players, “I bet none of you will go against THIS guy” pointing to his buddy. Now, neither of those two looked big at all. They looked to be early to mid twenties, somewhere between 5’10” and 6′ tall and probably in decent shape at least but no muscle heads by any stretch of the imagination. They accept that challenge, probably to save some face, and this guy (who we never got his name, only that they were from Cheatham County, TN) proceeds to destroy every one he faced – lineman, linebackers, you name it. They (and of course us) were laughing and watching and wondering how in the hell this is happening, saying things like “How?!?! He’s not even that big!!” all the while showing how big THEY actually were and trying to figure out what was going on. The second video where the guy eventually gets tossed from the booth is Jabari Zuniga, who is a Freshman DL listed at 6’3″ 263.

The rest of the pictures show what turned into a bullring of sorts in the middle of the Steak ‘n Shake while all this went down until the manager came out and put an end to it. It should be noted, that everyone was laughing and having a good time with it. Nobody was confrontational or saying anything out of line. But at least we were able to leave Gainesville with at least some small victory.”

Crushing steakburgers and arm wrestling UF players in the middle of a Steak ‘n Shake at 3 in the morning, that’s what bachelor parties are all about. Oh and strippers. Hopefully they picked some strippers up after this.
