The Colts Have Now Traded DeForest Buckner to the 49ers, and Jonathan Taylor's Wife is VERY Concerned About Her Family's Future
Last week, the Indianapolis Colts fired longtime bad GM Chris Ballard. Yesterday, under the interim general management of Ed Dodd, the Colts traded 30-year-old, 8-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Famer Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks. The return was underwhelming.
Sadly (for Colts fans), those are the breaks when you're facing a rebuild and have a player on an expiring contract. You can wait until the end of the season and let him go for nothing, or act now and let him go for almost nothing.
Hours later, the Colts did the same with 3-time Pro Bowler DeForest Buckner. Traded him for a single 4th round pick.
I know it's beating a dead horse at this point, but I'm so over this Adam Schefter + Ian Rapoport breaking news business. "Per me and Adam Schefter" – great job guys. If it weren't for you, we'd just be tuning in Sunday to random players in different uniforms.
We still have two weeks until the trade deadline, and it seems as if the Colts aren't done selling. All sorts of names have been thrown around. Grover Steward, Josh Downs, Keenan Allen, and of course, the Colts best player, Jonathan Taylor.
It all makes sense. The Colts are starting over. They need draft picks. Especially after mortgaging the future last season, trading two years of first-rounders to the Jets for Sauce Gardner.
Reportedly… well… according to Adam Schefter, the Colts "don't wanna" trade Jonathan Taylor. But teams are interested. He's still damn good running back. And if they can somehow get a first round pick back in exchange… maybe the deal would be too sweet to pass up.

And, for what it's worth, Jonathan Taylor's wife is NONE too confident that she and her family won't be moving cities in the next couple of weeks.
Until this week, I was unaware of quite how online Jonathan Taylor's wife was. Is she actually spiraling about the potential trade? Or is she just trying to be one of those talk-into-the-camera TikTok influencers? I can't say she's making me feel especially bad for the Taylor family. There's a weird vibe to that video, like she's reading a script or something. Either way, it's a tale as old as time. Guys who make millions and millions of dollars playing sports sometimes get traded, and it sucks for his family.
It's going to be ok, Mrs. Taylor. Your husband is a damn good football player. It comes with the territory. I'm sure that you, JT, and your daughter will enjoy plenty of Halloween festivities together wherever you end up.
On the bright side, if your husband gets traded, it will probably be to a contender. You may get to watch him compete for a Super Bowl. No matter where your husband goes, you still get to cheer for Jonathan Taylor. But what about me? I'm stuck cheering for RB1 Seth McGowan. Yuck. Count your blessings, Mrs. T. Leaving Indianapolis right now might be a pretty good deal.
