Texas Somehow Lives To Fight Another Day After Trying To Hand Ole Miss an Unfathomable Win

Texas blew a 24-3 lead, threw a horrific interception in the fourth quarter of a tied game, found a way to build a two-possession lead again only to botch an onside kick recovery and somehow escape with a win that may have allowed Steve Sarkisian to still have his job on Monday. What a night in Austin.

I don't ever remember a team in college football like this Texas team. It could very easily be 2-5, yet somehow has two of the best wins in college football this year and is still has everything in front of it. A week ago, it felt like a foregone conclusion that the Longhorns were pretty much as good as dead and now it seems conceivable they could still find a way into the College Football Playoff.

The margins in college football have never been smaller than they are right now. If Trinidad Chambliss had completed that pass on the final play, everyone in Austin might have been fired by sunrise but he didn't and now Texas is still in the SEC title race. Whatever you want to say about these Horns, they will keep you entertained until the final whistle.

We have to get that turf foxed, though. Every time I watch a game in Austin, it looks like the teams are playing in a parking lot.
