"He Hatin. He Hatin. See, I Gotta Give Him A Call Right Now" - LaMelo Ball Called Out His Brother Lonzo Live On TV For Saying He Traveled

I still can't believe they allowed this to happen, but then I remembered NBA refs are blind as shit.
In my blog last night I talked about how you knew there were going to be people out there that tried to justify the move and bring up gather steps and all these little minute details that, by the letter of the law, it may suggest this move was fine, but I would tell those people to grow up. It's OK that this is a travel.
What I was curious about though was what LaMelo himself would say about it. Usually when players get away with something like that, they admit it after the fact because we all have eyes and we all saw what happened. They acknowledge that they got a bit of a prayer and have a good laugh.
Let's just say LaMelo went with a bit of a different approach. Not only did he try to spinzone it, but he also addressed his own brother calling him out and suggesting that it was a travel
See what I mean about the attempt to justify the move? As long as you let the ball "guide" you, you can take as many steps as you want? I don't care if that's "technically" true. That language needs to be corrected. Good effort on the spinzone attempt by LaMelo, though. I don't doubt that he may be right based on how the rules are written, so credit to him for taking advantage.
When it came to his brother, I see LaMelo's point. Let the rest of us be honest and call out blatant travels. But your own family? Don't hate. Appreciate. As he said, when it comes to family, even if he's wrong he's right.
Giphy Images. That may as well have been LaVar on the mic if we're being honest. Last night showed us all the ways that the basketball side of the Ant/LaMelo duo is going to be awesome, well let's not sleep on the quotes side either. Those two are elite quote machines. The fact that they have now joined forces means we're in for a special kind of treat this season. Their personalities, their humor, their inability to give a single fuck, they confidence it's all great.

Plus, I'm not sure how many people were watching LaMelo while he was a Hornet, so I'm excited for him to be on a bigger team that's on TV more and gets more attention. The world needs more of LaMelo in front of cameras if you ask me, and I'd say we're off to a pretty good start after his awesome debut.
P.S.
Maybe it was just a big night for travels in the NBA? We also had this from Giannis that went uncalled
and I guess the spinzone here is that he "lost" control maybe? Just like LaMelo, this should absolutely be a travel, but oh well. Way to go Adam Silver!
