WHOA: Titans DT Jordan Elliott Allegedly Tried Getting A Gun From His Car After A Practice Fight To Shoot JC Latham But Somehow Got Stopped By John Franklin-Myers (Elliott Already Been Released)

After being told to leave the field, Elliott took off his pads and stormed out of the facility, then went to the players' lot. Security cameras captured the sequence. Veteran DL John Franklin-Myers talked him down, and no one was hurt. The Titans released Elliott on Tuesday after reviewing the incident. He signed a 2-year, $8M deal this offseason.

Holy shit what a miserable season down in Tennessee huh? Morale has been so low on the Titans that they got players literally trying to kill each other after practice. Whew boy sounds like they REALLY needed that win against the Colts on Sunday. But shout out to John Franklin-Myers for somehow keeping things copacetic & preventing an all-time NFL tragedy out there. Scary stuff.

(SOURCE) - Per sources to A to Z Sports, Elliott had grown frustrated with a Titans teammate on the practice field Thursday, Oct 15. On its own, that didn’t raise any red flags for those in attendance. Practice fights happen across the NFL every week, especially between offensive and defensive linemen who spend every rep in each other’s face. However, that frustration carried over into the locker room after practice. Sources say Elliott was seen storming out of the locker room upset. According to multiple sources, Elliott then went to the players’ parking garage next to the facility, to retrieve a firearm from his vehicle. The situation was de-escalated before there was any altercation involving the firearm. The Metro Nashville Police Department told A to Z Sports via phone call Tuesday afternoon that no reports had been filed, nor had any contact been made by the team in connection with the incident.

Certainly a pretty stunning method to piss away $8,000,0000! Dunno how Jordan Elliott will ever end up on another NFL team either. As one wise football analyst once put it... "What an idiot. What a fuckin' idiot!"

"This was so crazy," an NFL source said. "Jordan has been having a lot of problems away from the building and obviously he brought it to work with him. There was no reason for him to go off like that. Everyone thought that was wild. To overreact like that is absolutely crazy. We're just glad that no one got hurt and it's over." Elliott has been dealing with personal family issues and sources said he brought that frustration and anger with him to the workplace, Titans coach Robert Saleh previously said that Elliott has been dealing with "personal stuff."

“I will stand on the table for Jordan’s character. Unfortunately, rules are rules with regard to guns on property. And sometimes it’s far greater than the knee-jerk reaction of kicking somebody when they’re down. My message to 31 other teams would be if you need a helluva run-stopping D-tackle that can help you on a playoff run, give me a call. I’ll tell you everything you need to know about him. He’s a good man. Had a terrible lapse in judgment that I recognize as a call for help more than a criminal act. It’s unfortunate the way it went down. As far as Jordan’s concerned and the locker room and all that, I think people see it differently here than the knee-jerk reaction of the world.”

Although it's time like these when I'm reminded of the 2003 show 'Playmakers' and how incredibly prophetic it was. So if we go by those tea leaves, he'll probably find a new home by next week. GONE TOO SOON… The show I mean.

Still can't believe those cowards at ESPN canceled that show though. HIGHLY recommend bingeing that solo season if you've never seen it. So well made. And truly ahead of its time. Here's a playlist with every episode if interested in that blast from the past. It is a crisp 11 episode run. Very satisfying storylines.

Hilarious to look back at all the NFL players like RAY LEWIS who were admonishing the content and claiming their world was nothing like that nasty chaos onscreen. Then once the NFL owners started pushing back too, it was sadly curtains for 'Playmakers'.

No more showing players doing cocaine on the drive to games, or hooking up with scoop city reporters. No more having owners pull dirty tricks against their own employees, or hide they have secretly gay players, or admit knowledge about increased concussion & domestic violence rates. Like I said, WAY ahead of its time.

(SOURCE) - “Everyone feels that it’s a rather gross mischaracterization of our sport,” Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said at the time. The Baltimore Ravens‘ former linebacker, Ray Lewis, had no interest in defending the show. “They should have canceled it,” Lewis told ESPN.com. “That show doesn’t mean anything. That show is nothing about us. “I’m glad they canceled it,” Anderson said. “It’s one of those false interpretations people get about the NFL and the players. If the NFL’s serious about our image and the image that we portray, canceling it is a good thing.” Reportedly, Deion Sanders felt it to be a realistic depiction of life in the league, while Eisendrath mentioned that he heard from many players that quite a few of them secretly liked it. The Philadelphia Eagles‘ quarterback, Donovan McNabb, was “outspoken and supportive of it.”

Here is where the story gets interesting. Playmakers was not canceled because it failed. It was canceled because it succeeded. In its only season, the show pulled in an average of 2.2 million per episode and became one of ESPN’s biggest hits ever. It won an American Film Institute honor as one of the top 10 TV shows of 2003, alongside The Wire and 24. The reason was simple. ESPN had to choose between a hit TV show and a billion-dollar NFL contract. It was never really a competition. “We tried to sell it somewhere else,” co-executive producer Michael Angeli said. “No one wanted to touch it. I’m sure it was because the NFL exerted pressure on everybody.”

As they say, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. But shout out to the reality writers in Nashville for having this story have a happy/nontragic ending. All 6'6'' 345lbs of JC Latham must've been putting that dudes ass in the dirt every damn play that day too.

Nice to see him quietly having a Top 10 season at RT after seeming like a total bust. And even better to know he didn't have to deal with a gunshot wound after taking off his practice pads last week. The NFL really is where amazing happens! Maybe enough time has passed & they can finally make 'Playmakers' S2. Maybe. Titan up(?)
