Julian Sayin 'Doubtful' To Return in the Regular Season Following Elbow Injury

Ohio State snuck out of Bloomington on Saturday with a big win over Indiana, but at what cost? Julian Sayin left the game in the fourth quarter with an elbow injury and it now seems like he may have taken his last snap for the Buckeyes this season.

OSU would be in pretty big trouble if Nick Marsh had been able to keep his foot in bounds for what would have been the game-winning score, but even with just one loss, the rest of the Buckeyes' schedule is not a cake walk. They go to USC and Nebraska and host Oregon, Northwestern and Michigan. You'd still pick Ohio State in most of those games, but who knows what this team looks like with a new, inexperienced quarterback?

Freshman Luke Fahey came in to finish the Indiana game, but Ryan Day says it will be an open competition between Fahey and sophomore Tavien St. Clair, who was the No. 3 QB in the 2025 class behind only Bryce Underwood and Keelon Russell.

The Buckeyes just became maybe the most fascinating team in America going down the stretch. It would seem unfathomable that this team with a win over Indiana and close loss at Texas would miss out on the College Football Playoff, but obviously everything has changed now.
