Troy Aikman Is Sick Of All The Nerds In Football, Thinks 'Analytics Is A Good Way To Lose Your Job As A Head Coach'

Hell yeah. I love when people go on rants like this because it just pisses half the people off. People, also older, tend to default to blame analytics when something just doesn't work. There's a reason analytics are in sports. It's because it's smart, there's a reason people use them and why we talk about them. Now is it end-all, be-all, of course not. You have to make gut calls, what's going in the flow of the game, but also analytics don't calculate simple human error or not executing a play correctly. 

I also love that this is the moment Aikman let it fly. 49ers, at home, against the Commanders, early in the game. This wasn't a game-changing decision. This wasn't like game on the line and you do something dumb. No, it was early on and Aikman basically went fuck this live on television. Not only that, you had everyone freaking over him and Joe Buck just sitting next to each other

I do like Aikman and Buck together because I'm just used to it. Now, I also hope Aikman just says whatever the fuck he wants the rest of the way. It's MNF. We're all pretty tired on Monday night, you're fighting for a good game. Let Aikman get a little loose. Just rant about whatever he wants, bitch about whatever he wants and look awkward with Joe Buck. It will spice it up at least. 

I want Aikman to be mic'd up for a college game. You wanna see coaches just say fuck it, we're going for it here no matter what, he'd lose his mind. It's the new era of football. You take field goals, but go get 7 when you can. You go for it more. You don't play field position as much vs give me the ball and best chance to win. Fucking nerds, that's not what Aikman wants.
