Steve Sarkisian and Texas Are an Absolute Disgrace

My goodness. What was supposed to be a national championship-or-bust season in Austin may have blown up before the calendar even flips to November.

I have to imagine Steve Sarkisian is going to be fired if things keep going the way they seem like they will. And if that happens, I don't see how any serious college football program ever hires him again. Nobody has consistently done less with more than Sark and this 2026 Texas team is his magnum opus.

It's unfathomable, but this team flat-out stinks. I have no idea how they mustered up enough fortitude to mount a huge comeback against Ohio State, but every game against a Power Four opponent since has been a nightmare. The Longhorns have now lost to unranked Oklahoma and Florida — the latter in Austin with a quarterback making his first career start. Their lone win over a P4 team was by a field goal to a Tennessee team with an injured true freshman quarterback that scored one offensive touchdown.

The win over the Buckeyes is going to do a lot of work at the end of the season if Texas finishes 9-3, but this is not a team that should be in serious contention for a College Football Playoff berth with three losses. If they win out, great. But another loss — which feels rather inevitable at this point — and these guys should be donezo.

What an absolute wet fart of a team. Embarrassing.
