A BBC Host Saw A Blue Whale, The Largest Animal On Earth, And His Excitement Over It Is Pretty Great

That’s BBC presenter Steve Backshall in a segment with a whale expert in Monterey Bay, Calif. and honestly that enthusiasm was so contagious to me. Browsing a ton of things online everyday has generally numbed me to things that in theory are amazing or unbelievable to see:

I mean look at this Doris lady he’s interviewing. Even as he’s basically like “Shut up you old bag” so he can segue over to the blue whale, she’s gushing with excitement, figuratively and possibly literally:

Pair that enthusiasm with a British guy narrating things — a production touch that adds value to anything, throw a British narrator on the Rundown and it’d be big. Jenna Marbles Big — and I have to admit I was fully sucked in. Could you imagine being that excited for anything in life, let alone something that’s part of your job? That’s a pretty cool moment to have witnessed. Good for Steve Backshall and this lady with the excited Muppet face who probably has pleasured herself with a flipper before.

Also always a good time for this clip:
