Football Guy: Dan Campbell Nearly Broke The Mic And Collapsed When Asked About Leaving His Starters In While Up 21 Against The Cardinals

You gotta have some gigantic Sam Cassell sized balls to ask Dan Campbell about football players playing a football game. Because this is the response you're going to get. I haven't seen a big man go down like that in quite some time and Campbell's reaction is basically his inner emotions coming out. He wanted to give a logical answer and calm answer. Instead his only reaction is to fall into the mic and basically sound like a bear ready to eat. 

Also, the Lions are on bye this week. It's not like we're in the middle of the season and a grueling session or a short week coming up. Those guys get to rest all week without getting hit by another team. They can play a full game against the Cardinals. Let's not act like 21 is some insane number either. We're not talking about being up 40 in the 4th and still running out Goff, Gibbs and St. Brown. 

I kinda wish Campbell didn't give a diplomatic answer after. We don't need to encourage guys sitting out just because they are up 21. Let's get back to the days where guys wanted to play. Where it was normal for starters to be out there competing because that's what you'er supposed to do. Then when you're up big enough and bored, you get the other guys in the game. I miss those days instead of coaches having to answer because starters were playing.
