The Texans GM Broke Down All The Details Of How They Got Marvin Harrison Jr. And It's Still The Weirdest Trade We've Had In A Long Time
We know how this happened. We got the report from the scoop guys that the Cardinals were trading Marvin Harrison Jr. but no one said to what team or when. Then Sunday DeMeco Ryans drops the news in his press conference that they traded for him. It was weird then and now we're getting the details from the Texans GM and it's still weird.
You're telling me they agreed to the trade on Friday but the Cardinals wanted to delay it and the Texans game on Sunday had no impact on it all? Then why just not announce the trade on Friday? The Cardinals already said they weren't going to play MHJ against the Lions. So it's not like announcing it on Friday would have changed anything this weekend.
All it did is remind everyone how much the scoop game sucks. I miss the days of finding out news on the bottom line. I miss the days of being in awe when someone told you the news because they were in front of the TV at the time. That's how the scoop game should work. You hear the news first from the team or a show and then you get to tell your family and friends. Not this bullshit report that someone is being traded but no one knows to who or when.
I actually do like that the Texans GM said all of this. It's at least something. It's at least a look behind the curtain which, yeah, I'm a nerd, so I like it. Who knows how much of it is true, but it's at least something. Too often these guys just do a press conference or say nothing or Jerry Jones talks about women putting their bare ass on his car. That's fine too. I just want to know details of how this went down, because it's still weird. Not that the Cardinals traded Marvin Harrison Jr. Just how we went from a half ass report to a delay and trying to say the game didn't matter.
