The 3:30 Slate CFB Witching Hour Was Generational
Everyone take a breath. Holy cow, what an end to the 3:30 slate we just witnessed.
- Down Goes No. 1
Texas has played like a Top 10 team for precisely one quarter this season. The results are the results, but if Ohio State didn't implode upon itself and Tennessee had a halfway decent quarterback, the Longhorns could very easily be a 2-3 football team right now.
Oklahoma can't score unless you damn near force it to do so. The Sooners scored one offensive touchdown and it came on a drive that started on Texas's side of the field. Other than that, the Longhorns handed them a punt blocked for a score and the Arch Manning pick six. Texas begged to lose this game.
And Manning might just flat-out stink. He has flashes of brilliance, but those are overshadowed by not just inconsistency, but flashes as brutal as the former ones are brilliant. He just isn't able to put it all together.
That is a team that's in TROUBLE.
- Another JMU Satellite Campus Might Be Headed to the Playoff in Year 1
So much happened in this game that I didn't even know what highlights to include.
UCLA really should have run Oregon off the field. The Ducks were 1-12 on third down and turned the ball over seven (7) times. Nico Iamaleava's two interceptions and fumble prevented the score from being lopsided before he exited with an injury and was replaced by Ty Dieffenbach, who finished off the huge win for the Bruins.
And with this win, UCLA has a pretty nice path laid out in front of it that could end up in the College Football Playoff in Bob Chesney's first year. James Madison having Chesney and Curt Cignetti back to back is unbelievable.
This team is legit, even with problems at quarterback. Wayne Knight is one of the best backs in America and the defense has really turned it on the last couple weeks.
- DeSean Bishop Single-Handedly Prevents the Most Embarrassing Loss of the Season

My goodness, what a disaster we avoided in Fayettenam, Arkansas, today.
Tennessee was on the ropes all day with an absolutely inept offense that was flirting with a loss to one of the worst SEC teams we've seen in a long time. But with the game on the line, DeSean Bishop took the ball inside the Vols' 10-yard line and said he'd handle things.
Thank you, DeSean.
