RIP To A Legend. Mike Ditka Passes At Age 86

Tough news to start the weekend. One of the most iconic figures in the history of the NFL, and absolutely on the Bears Mount Rushmore. Hall Of Fame Tight End and the only Super Bowl Champion Head Coach in Chicago Bears history. One a team of legendary players who have been beloved for over 40 years now, it was Mike Ditka that was the most memorable personality. The rants. The dust ups with other coaches and players. And honestly, the look. He wasn't from Chicago, but he became Chicago. The look that inspired a million halloween costumes and fans with fake cigars in the crowd every sunday. He was a myth for people my age. I remember him more personally for trading his entire draft for Ricky Williams when he was head coach of the Saints, but for my dad he was the King here. Cult of personality that embodied the Bears and molded the most beloved team in Chicago Sports history.

I hope he has a good view for the game on Sunday up in Green Bay. I hope Ben Johnson grows out the mustache for this game. RIP to Daaaa Coach.
