Banana The Corgi Won The Cockiest 50-Yard Corgi Race in The History of Corgi Races at Seattle Seahawks Halftime

Never have I witnessed a Corgi in a Corgi race be more eady for the moment than Banana the Corgi. Corgi races are always adorable, but most of the time the barrier of entry is no greater than "Are you a Corgi?" Most halftime shows looking to do Corgi races will take any Corgi they can get their hands on. Because again... no matter what happens with the race, Corgis are cute, and the crowd will eat it up.

Take this Ohio State Corgi race for example. They'll let anybody in.

For the love of God, Sadie Mae's people took so damn long to congratulate her after the win; I was about to punch through my computer screen and pet Sadie Mae myself. How were there not 10 people showering Sadie Mae with praises the second she crossed the finish line? She was desperately looking around for approval. Her owners were jumping up and down in celebration, taking in all the glory, but they barely acknowledged the dog who got them there. Show your disabled champion some love for Christ's sake. Damn.

The Corgi race at Lumen Field yesterday was a whole different level of Corgi race. It featured Corgis from across the country. Based on the video that's going viral, you might think it was merely one single race between three Corgis, but it was much more than that. It was a Corgi race with multiple heats.

Not that we needed to see a championship heat after witnessing the first one. Banana was ears and shoulders ahead of her competition. No Corgi has ever been more sure of themselves, and more ready to dominate her competition than Banana. Even during introductions, while the rest of the Corgi's were bouncing around and running in circles as their owners attempted to face them towards the camera, Banana could not have been more professional.

While half the dogs in the preliminary heat could barely find their way to the finish line, Banana started on the hash mark…

And ended on the hash mark…

After winning the first heat, it's one thing to go on and dominate the championship, but very few Corgis have the wherewithal to give a "fuck you" look back to their competition Usain Bolt style.

Even in her celebration, Banana the Corgi didn't run around all crazy. She wasn't overwhelmed by the 70,000 fans in the crowd. She didn't jump up and down like she just broke some sort of Corgi world record. She politely sat down, waited for her treat, and accepted her award like she's been there a hundred times before (like she probably has). Barry Sanders style.

What a cocky bitch. There was never a doubt. Well done, Banana.
