Ovi Just Announced This Is His Final NHL Season ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Well I've never been more sad in my life. I knew this day would come, but even the thought of the Caps in a post-Ovi era makes me so sad. After 22 season, every accolade, a Stanley Cup, and becoming the NHL all-time leading goal scorer, he has decided to step away after this season. Man. I'm kind of without words. I know it's the right decision for him, I know the Caps are set up wonderfully for the future, but it still just sucks that we are going to see an Ovi-less NHL.Â
I'm sure I'll have more to say as the season progresses, but right now, man. Legends retire all the time, but usually you know…it's not your legend. Tom Brady retired and it's like "well thank god he won't terrorize the league anymore". But if you're lucky enough to have the legend on your team it hits like a shotgun blast to the chest.Â
The good news is we have 82 more games of Ovi, and then playoffs, god willing. Hopefully we get one more of these:
