Some Things Are Bigger Than Sports: Ian Happ Bought Cubs Fans Beer With Money Attached To A Signed Ball

They say players don’t care about fans and there’s some times where that can be true but Ian Happ FOR SURE cares about the fans and there was no better way to prove that than with one of the coolest gestures you can ever see. Just an awesomely perfect way to honor the fans. He could have done a tired old newspaper ad, or said something in a postgame or an instagram post etc and all those are for sure thoughtful, but actions speak louder than words and there’s no way better than connecting those fans with what they love- a round of beers on a nice beautiful Thursday afternoon. Man of the people. This is what it’s all about. Absolutely crushed it. 

With playoff baseball and the Mets out of the picture I really start to just root for  the ballparks where playoff games seem that much more jacked up and Wrigley is at the top of that list. Day games night games - whatever. The Cubs environment is fantastic and as much as it kills me - Philly always delivers too for that matter. Here’s to hoping Ian Happ gets a couple more AB’s in a big spot in the playoffs at Wrigley. No one will go crazier on the intro than those fans in the bleachers.
