The Ravens Look Like An Absolute Wagon In September (Yet Again)
Justin Casterline. Getty Images.Well that was fun. Mostly.
Minter era got off to a sliiightly shaky start with the Colts marching right down our throats for 6. But from there, the Ravens dominated despite a goddamn boatload of offensive penalties. Without the offensive line racking up holding penalties left and right (and honestly pass protecting pretty poorly) the Ravens probably put up an easy 50 burger.
Lamar, Zay and Derrick Henry pretty much had whatever they wanted in the first half. Lamar basically played 3 quarters of healthy football last year before he got banged up - we didn't really see him open it up with his legs so much because of that in 2025. He was everything we know he can be and more today. The first play of the year was a beautiful rollout and an easy flick of the wrist from the highest rated passer in NFL history.
Then he took in the first TD of the year with ease with his legs.
And then the real eye opener was this one that extended the sticks on a long 3rd and 16 (caused by a dumb chop block 15 yarder on 3rd and 1).
And then a nifty step up and throw on the run to Zay, who did the rest
Littered within all of that was Derrick Henry getting downhill and Lamar methodically moving the ball downfield, often without a lot of time to throw. Henry put up a 3 TD performance and is up to his usual downhill dominance.
It was a game of control and dominance, with the defense forcing a couple key takeaways to help stack that lead and put them in front.
Of course, it wasn't without some negatives. I can't state enough how much that the sky is the limit for this team as long as the offensive line doesn't get in the way, as well as the kicking game. At times today, it certainly did. Lamar had no time on the attempted 4th and goal from the 3, and the TD should've already been punched in anyways. Lamar's fumble was also no fault of his. The penalties continually put them behind the sticks… which honestly to put up 41 and win by 18 is damn impressive all things said.

On the kicking side… was good to see Loop bang in that 57 yarder before half. Him making those are nice and all, but he's not to be trusted until he has to hit big time kicks in big time moments.
Lastly… was awesome to watch Zay put up 150 in the first half and it looked like he was off to the races on a special season when his hammy gave out. We'll certainly keep an eye on that. Ja'Kobi Lane hurting his wrist sucks too - especially after he thought he scored his first tuddy and ripped a squirrel dance.
Off to the home opener against New Orleans - will be fun to see the boys at the Bank.
1-0.
