Enough Is Enough: Jayson Tatum Needs To Get The Hell Out Of China Immediately

Look, there's no easy way to say this. Jayson Tatum is currently having a PR disaster in China. I know he's out there for some sort of Jordan event or whatever, but we are quickly approaching disaster territory. It started with the free throw shooting clip, and while I'm not sure what sort of carnival rim bullshit that was, woof. Brutal clip, no two ways about it. As long time readers know, I take FT shooting very seriously. Can't go 0-for-1 billion with all the eyes on you.

In the world of NBA Twitter, this is the kind of clip you cannot have. The haters and losers of which there are still many are certainly not shy when it comes to shitting on Tatum for views, everyone knows a simple mention of his name will get you the engagement and dopamine hit you crave. Giving them that type of ammo? Not exactly ideal for those of us who live on the internet.

Now it'd be one thing if that was the only clip that came out of this trip. Unfortunately, the #TatumFiles are growing

In life, there comes a time when sometimes you need to take a stand and say enough is enough. I'm talking about going full John Taffer and shutting everything the fuck down

if nobody else is going to do it, I'll do it. It's time to get Jayson Tatum the hell out of China. Shut this shit down immediately. You can survive the FT video, that's easy. But this too? A nutmeg and bucket for the world to see? Nope. Shut it down. There is nothing to gain here and clearly everything to lose because I can't go 2 seconds without my timeline showing me some sort of Tatum clip where each one seems to somehow be worse than the last. If nobody else is going to care about Tatum's PR then I sure as hell will. I need him on the first flight outta there and the next time I see Tatum it needs to be him dominating an open run against fellow NBA players. I'm not saying we're at a code red, but we're getting close. 

In fact, I would argue he should never be allowed to do these promotional events at all. Let's not forget what also happened in the summer 2024, immediately coming off his title

so I'm sorry, but he leaves me with no choice. I don't know who I have to call or what I have to do, but I am willing to do my part to put an end to all this. 

And you know what? Sometimes you also have to fight fire with fire, so that's what I'm prepared to do. Oh, you want to clog my timeline with videos of Tatum embarrassing the shit out of himself? Cool. Here's 29 minutes (yes, I said 29 minutes) of Tatum being absolutely fucking awesome after returning from his achilles injury. Boom, checkmate.

Not only that, but I'd also like to take this opportunity to bring up another time a very embarrassing offseason clip came out about a Celtics star right before the season. Remember the Jaylen Brown left-hand dribble video from October 2023?

Basically the same type of situation we have here with Tatum, and guess what happened that very same season?

so in a way, congratulations to Jayson Tatum on his 2027 Finals MVP. Maybe this is just the path each Celtic has to go down before they can lift the Bill Russell Trophy.

All in all, I'd say this has been a pretty tough offseason when it comes to the Celtics willingly feeding the internet trolls ahead of their season. The sad part is it's not just Tatum. We also have Paul George having a moment of his own

Not great. While I do think the Celts are still going to be a wagon and Tatum is about to have a massive season, these clips certainly don't help. Not when they hit in late August and we still have a long ass time before even the fake preseason games start. That's why I need Tatum out of China and into a gym with an open run so we can try and flush these clips from our memories. Enough is enough.
