As A Lifelong Browns Fan, Naming Deshaun Watson QB1 Today Might Be Their Biggest Embarrassment Yet

Listen my good friends the Cleveland Browns have NEVER been accused of being smart. But this morning they may have made their dumbest decision yet. Deshaun Watson has been named the starting quarterback just days after starting a war with the fan base. 

And let’s be very clear off the bat: Deshaun Watson is getting booed because he’s been fucking terrible, fucking injured, and fucking injured and terrible. He’s the product of the worst trade in the history of sports. And we mortgaged our future in terms of draft picks and gave him the highest guaranteed contract in the sport just for him to be flat out awful. THATS why we’re booing.

You think if you came in and won that browns fans would boo you? That’s delusional and that alone is why you shouldn’t start at quarterback. But to the browns,  like what is the end goal here? Do you really think Deshaun Watson is going to lead this team to the playoffs? Because that’s the only reason to start him. You really think he’s that good and the gap is that large. And then what do we do? Do we resign Deshaun Watson? Do you think Deshaun Watson, the product of the worst trade in the history of sports, is going to earn himself another contract in Cleveland? I mean there’s a 0% chance. 

But what there’s a 100% chance of is that Deshaun is going to lose some games, there will be a media circus, and then at some point this season we’re going to bench him. So why subject the franchise and a new coach and the fans to this dumpster fire? 

And if you're one of the morons on the internet right now telling me we're tanking, you need to head on down to the Browns front office and apply for a job because you'll fit right in. We don't need to start Deshaun to tank! Shedeur will lose games too! OPEN YOUR EYES! This team does NOT have a good quarterback on the roster. But why did we choose the one who is fighting a war with our fans? The one who screwed over our franchise? The one with off the field baggage that make even non football fans know who he is and hate him? We're setting ourselves up here to be even more of the laughing stock of the league this season.

For a franchise that has never made sense, this decision makes the least sense. The browns are a bad franchise. Deshaun Watson is a bad quarterback. And we all know how this is going to end.
