The Newest Golf Rivalry: Bryson DeChambeau vs Nick Faldo
Nick Faldo came out Tuesday and shit on two-time major champion Bryson DeChambeau, talking about how he has "zero clue of strategy." After his first round at The Open, DeChambeau is sitting in the top 10 after shooting -3.
DeChambeau was asked how his round went and just shit on Faldo.
Look, this is great for golf. Anytime we can get DeChambeau fired up, it's gold to watch. He obviously isn't going to say, "Fuck you, Nick Faldo," but he definitely let him know he hates his guts.
Now, has DeChambeau been terrible this year? Yes. Obviously, Bryson has been struggling with injuries and missing cuts. But when you're a two-time major champion, I think you've earned enough respect from everyone.
Could you imagine if DeChambeau goes out and wins this tournament? Faldo would have to eat his words.
I get that Faldo has won six majors, but you can't say DeChambeau has "zero clue of strategy" and not expect some backlash.
I say we let the two battle it out on the course. I know Faldo is way older, so give him a few strokes. I'd be very interested to see what happens. Bryson has a YouTube channel—there's your next video idea. I just want a shoutout, that's it.
I hope DeChambeau keeps competing in this tournament because I'd love to see this rivalry go deeper. DeChambeau vs. Faldo would be a great watch on YouTube. I feel like DeChambeau would be talking shit the whole time while Faldo wouldn't say a word. I guess only time will tell.
