Be On The Lookout For This Mystery Team In The Jaylen Brown Trade Market

With Giannis Antetokounmpo getting traded to the Heat last night, that leaves the Celtics holding the bag a bit with recent Finals MVP Jaylen Brown who had been mentioned in trade rumors for the last few weeks for Giannis. Shams is reporting that the Celtics are fielding offers for the All-Star swingman. And based on what Boston is looking to get back, which is likely depth in combination with starters, there is a team out west to watch…and it's the Utah Jazz.

Utah checks a lot of boxes:

- a plethora of bigs: Walker Kessler (in a contract dispute, currently isn't happy with Utah's offer for him), Lauri Markkanen, and  recently acquired Jaren Jackson Jr. *While I don't think JJJ is on the move so soon, it is interesting that they have so much front court talent, which could appeal to Boston

- a young, exciting prospect in Ace Bailey. Bailey is 6'9" 207 lbs. with a 7'0.5" wingspan. A top five pick from a year ago, he averaged 18-5-2 post-All Star break.

Brown is 6'8" 223 lbs. with a 7'0.5" wingspan. A former top three pick who averaged 15-5-2 in his second season.

Utah is familiar with Brown with Austin Ainge as President of Basketball Operations and Danny Ainge, who drafted Brown in 2016, as the Jazz's CEO.

While I don't expect the Jazz to give up the second pick for Brown, he would be a stellar fit there as the A1 guy. A lineup of:

Keyonte George

Darryn Peterson

Jaylen Brown

Lauri Markkanen

Jaren Jackson Jr.

OR

Keyonte George

Jaylen Brown

Lauri Markkanen

Cam Boozer

Jaren Jackson Jr.

is a pretty formidable foundation for an up and coming team. Watch out for the Jazz!
