Jacoby Brissett Holding Out For More Money Is Insane For A Guy Who Is Lucky To Even Be Considered To Be A Starting Quarterback

Jacoby Brissett is fine backup Quarterback. He's made himself a nice living earning over $66 million dollars in just 65 careers starts. But let's take a look at those numbers a bit closer.

Brissett is 20-45 in those 65 career starts averaging a paltry 146 yards/game passing in those contests. And look, I get it. He should be starting for the Cardinals this year. He deserves it. They got rid of Kyler Murray. He is the ultimate bridge Quarterback and with him throwing the ball, they will not win many games this year, which would appear to be the Cardinals goal going into a loaded Quarterback draft next year.

And that's not shade! If anybody loves Jacoby Brissett, it's me. I bet on that guy a lot last year.

But the fact that Brissett has the audacity to hold out for more money is crazy to me as his starting spot could just be given to Gardner Minshew II, who is basically just as good. There are only 32 starting spots in the world and he should be thanking his lucky stars he gets one, despite his play not necessarily being worthy of one. Let me be very clear. There is ZERO DEMAND for Jacoby Brissett as a starting Quarterback outside of Arizona. He has no leverage! And if he doesn't want to play for them at his current salary, they can fill that role in a pinch with someone like Gardner Minshew II, who is already on the roster, and almost as good.
