The Bears are getting new uniforms this season and there's only 2 options for a hit, anything else is a complete miss
Following their reveal, these Rivalries uniforms will be included in their team's uniform lineup for three years after introduction, in addition to existing alternate uniforms. Teams from the AFC South and NFC North will debut their Rivalries uniforms in 2026, followed by NFC East and AFC West teams in 2027, and teams from the AFC North and NFC South in 2028.
Last NFL season, the NFL and Nike launched a new campaign called “NFL Rivalries” where two divisions per year get new uniforms for 1 game. Last year it was the AFC East and NFC West and this year the Bears and the NFC North got the phone call. Which is so funny after last season where the Bears only wore their home and away uniforms and no alternates in honor to Virginia.
There's been dozens of rumors for Bears new uniforms over the years but the only two options I’ve ever been a fan of are: Polar Bears and the Chicago flag. Starting off with the Polar Bears it’s relatively simple, all white uniforms from head, yes head, the helmets would be white, to toe. Use blue as the secondary color for the numbers and have some splashes of orange and my god that’s a great uniform. Imagine them rolling those out for a cold snowy December night game, ELECTRIC.
Next up there’s the Chicago flag. This would be a completely new ballgame for the Bears but I believe it would look great. That light blue on the Chicago flag is gorgeous and reminds me of the Houston Oilers uniforms, which are some of the best in football in my opinion. The only issue I see with it is the red, red on a Bears uniform sounds…. Interesting to say the very least. But it could definitely work.
It’s great to see the NFL finally expand into the uniform game and let teams have a bit more freedom over the past few years than just their home and aways. The Polar Bears at Soldier Field would be something SPECIAL. Bear Down.
