Best Of 2025 - Courageous, Manipulative, Ambitious, Or Arrogant? A Complete Breakdown Of The Barstool Sports Employees' Zodiac Signs

The concept of believing in astrology is a controversial one - I’m not sure why, really, when people are more than happy to believe in all kinds of religious stories or worship talismans from ancient texts, with basically no other evidence to “prove” its legitimacy. One could argue the stars themselves are an ancient text - one that people have been decoding for centuries, and one that truly, deeply, fascinates me. 

I know, like the concept of religion for some, it’s difficult to really believe in anything as seemingly ambiguous as “traits assigned to you based on the time of year you were born.” I know there are grifters who try to sell you on ideas and predictions “from the stars” with the old Fortune Teller approach; say a lot of vague shit, and hope something sticks that legitimizes the theatrics. With the Zodiac however, the basics always remain the same…consistent, clear, vague (sure) but much easier to see when you take a step back and look at the full picture. There are cultures all over the world who believe in their own versions of the Zodiac, as much as anyone believes in God or otherwise. 

Chinese astrology, assigning an animal and a purpose to every calendar year, is probably the most well known worldwide. (Happy almost end of the Year of the Snake! Shed those skins!) Chinese New Year is a weeks long festival, to this day.

My new personal favorite perspective to learn about is Vedic astrology, which originated in India and is based all around the moon, its phases/positions and how it affects a person’s life. If you’ve ever watched the sea come in during high tide and you still don’t believe it could have some kind of affect on ANYTHING about us? You’re crazy, and I’ll die on that hill.

Of course, we can’t forget about the Mayans; people so intertwined with energy, nature and spiritual connections that they became one of the most successful civilizations in history. They were OBSESSED with the calendar!

You’re going to hear all of that and tell me the traditional western Zodiac means NOTHING? Pish posh. I’m serious - I genuinely find it easier to form a relationship with someone (platonic or otherwise) if I know their star sign. It’s almost like a built in guideline to how they operate as a person - if I’m talking to a Cancer, as a Sagittarius, I know I am a little too blunt for their sensitive nature, so I’ll soften up how I say or do things to avoid conflict. It’s great!

Of course, not all signs are created equal and people don’t always fit within the parameters of their traits BLAH BLAH BLAH - IDK man! In my experience, it’s almost always right in one way or another. Maybe not the first time you meet, but once you get to know someone it starts to make a lot more sense. Just have a little fun! Usually the people who really dislike it, have had an experience where their “sign” is considered less than or, they feel prematurely judged because of it. Real Zodiac heads know that part of the journey is accepting the good WITH the bad, and using the knowledge as a tool to strengthen relationships - there are good Geminis and Scorpios out there! (Allegedly…)

I’ve wanted to break down everyone at Barstool based on their zodiac sign for years. Ideally, everyone tells me the exact time they were born and we all hyper analyze by their Moons and Rising signs as well - but it was easier to go through twitter bios, ask Nate to send a pathetic email asking for birthdays on my behalf, and google my actually famous coworkers to find out at LEAST everyone’s sun sign. Some of these groupings are hilarious, but I will say for the most part knowing nearly everyone on this list personally to some extent - it’s almost scary how accurate it is. 

The signs are segmented into elements and have general, overarching traits between them:

Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) - Passionate, energetic, courageous and assertive

Air Signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra) - intellectual, communicative, social, and adaptable

Water Signs (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio - emotional, intuitive, sensitive, and empathetic

Earth Signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo) - practical, reliable, grounded, and stable

You often get along best with people in your own elemental group. Personally I feel the most comfortable/myself around Leos and Aries! Something about that fire bond! I also think it has something to do with having similar "flaws" to other people in your elemental group. Fire signs are hot heads! Water signs are sensitive! It's nice to be around people who have similar temperaments. 

Interesting (but not surprising) that Fire and Air make up most of the group. We all love to fan each other's flames! Earth being the least represented…not a lot of "stable" and "grounded" people here I guess!

And then each sign has their own individual traits….good and bad:

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Good Traits - Ambitious, hard working, disciplined, focused

Bad Traits - Stubborn, condescending, cynical, unforgiving

I’d say the best way to describe any Capricorn I’ve ever known is “Bossy.” They’re great, until they’re a total fucking dickhead a little too cold - the curse of an Earth sign. Unfortunately, I’ve dated 5 Capricorns. (None of them are on this list, swear.)

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

Good Traits - innovative, independent, compassionate, active imagination

Bad Traits - rebellious, unpredictable, detached, overconfident

HUGE Aquarius representation at Barstool. Tied for the most out of all signs with Leo - 15 people. I’d say the best way to describe this sign is “chaotic good” and I think this list eerily reflects exactly that. Massive range of big personalities in this group - and 3 members of the Yak! 

(Aquarius is my rising sign, which means its how people perceive me. Your rising sign represents your self, body and character! So I guess, if that ass fat, Kel-ly gon have that, too)

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Good Traits - empathetic, adaptable, creative, intuitive and deeply romantic

Bad Traits - moody, indecisive, idealistic, escapists

All the Pisces I know are definitely a little emo, but truly a good time to be around. They wear their emotions on their sleeves in an endearing way, and are the kind of people you say “yanno, they’ve got a good heart…deep down."

Aries - “A Natural Leader” (March 21 - April 19)

Good Traits - passionate, confident, courageous, honest

Bad Traits - impulsive, competitive, arrogant, greedy

Ok group Aries!! Powerhouse representation at Barstool. STRONG group. Interesting that a handful of these people go viral every single day in one way or another. What’s in their secret sauce??? I love an Aries soooo much. I’d say its the chillest of the fire signs, but not by much! Talk about the new Club Cool!!! 

Taurus (April 20 - May 20) 

Good Traits - patient, sensual (!), artistic, determined 

Bad Traits - possessive, controlling, stubborn, “obsessed with self image”

The least represented sign, with only 4 people. Should these guys start a Taurus pod? Maybe name it “raging bull” and they just make up absurd lies for an hour straight? You boys can have that one for free. 

PS - I have a soft spot for Taurus because it’s my moon sign, which rules your emotions; I’m thankful to have a little earth among the otherwise fiery chaos.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Good Traits - curious, outgoing, social, adaptable

Bad Traits - manipulative, two-faced, inconsistent, indecisive

A wise woman once said if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all - as I am a reckless Sag, I’ll bluntly declare that this is my least favorite sign in the Zodiac. I’m sorry! A good Gemini is RARE! This also happens to be the most accurate grouping of all. Hilariously on point. Although, I did gasp when I saw Kate’s name on there until I remembered she has a past life of kicking ass and taking names. That checks out!! 

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Good Traits - nurturing, sentimental, intuitive, creative

Bad Traits - overly-sensitive, insecure, clingy, dislikes change 

I know a LOT of Cancers and as I’ve gotten older, It’s gotten easier to appreciate them. We love our Sensitive Sallies for who they are. One thing to always remember - they mean well, even if they’re really annoying about it. And yes, I'm being overly nice as to not hurt any Cancer feelings. (Big LOL from me finding out Wallo is a Cancer, but it totally makes sense. He’s a big softie.)

Leo “A Natural Leader” (July 23 - August 22)

Good Traits - generous, loyal, charismatic, creative 

Bad Traits - attention-seeking, egotistical, childish, dramatic

Another natural leader!! I think of Leos as “the fun time people who can really capture a room.” A huge amount of my friends are Leos - fire signs always get along! Leos are the performers, they gravitate towards the stage!

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Good Traits - analytical, reliable, intelligent, modest

Bad Traits - judgmental, pessimistic, picky, critical 

I LOVE Virgos. My best friend is a Virgo, I like to work with Virgos - probably my favorite earth sign to be around. For my Potterheads, big time Ravenclaw energy. 

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

Good Traits - charming, romantic, diplomatic, dislikes conflict

Bad Traits - people-pleasing, superficial, indecisive, self-pitying

Libras are the middle child of the air signs, and possibly the whole zodiac. They’re cool, but they’re usually stressed out over one thing or another. Eminem is a Libra! That’s sick!

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

Good Traits - Determined, loyal, brave, ambitious

Bad Traits - Possessive, aggressive, controlling, secretive. *enjoys chaos, violence and arguing loudly

Venomous beasts!!!! Scorpios are always hated on for being crazy people and I mean, if the shoe fits!! I’d say this list is about as accurate as the Gemini list but I admire Scorpios for their resilience. Whether it be running the world or torturing others, they never quit. Over their dead bodies. Re2pect. 

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

Good Traits - honest, adventurous, independent, friendly

Bad Traits - blunt, emotionally detached, self indulgent, reckless *sociopathic tendencies 

See? I’m being as unbiased as I can possibly be! I left in the fact the Sagittarius sign as a whole produces a LOT of sociopaths, specifically, serial killers. NOT IDEAL!!!! BAD FOR THE BRAND!!! It’s fine though, we also have Taylor Swift. We’re the most flighty fire sign for sure, but god damnit we are a good hang. I don’t know Murls that well but I’m willing to bet this is a crew that could drink at a bar all night long and never stop talking once. All over the place, but happy to be there!

Some signs are more compatible with others - America’s Couple Danny and Jackie are both Virgos, do the stars think they work well together? 

Be careful kids!!! Be kind to each other!!!

What about our Beach House situationship, Annika and Nicky, two fire signs:

(If either one of those predictions ended up being bad, I wasn’t going to include that part of the blog LOL phew, what a relief.)

And what about on camera chemistry? We know that the elemental groups get along, but is there a perfect mix of all elements to create the best kind of energy? Is there a balance that needs to be maintained?

We'll take the Yak for example:

Water heavy, some earth, and singular dashes of fire and air. I imagine it’s ideal to keep the water ratio the highest so that everyone is going with the flow. Too much fire and too much air fanning the flames and we’ve got Pick Em:

EDITED: BREAKING NEWS - Gaz is a water sign - perhaps Rico wants to start inviting on the show more often to put out these fires?

I know Astrology generally sounds like a basic bitch thing to care about or even spend time on, but I think there's something to all of this. There are 3 elemental cycles in a year, there are 12 moon cycles - maybe when you were born does determine how you are, based on what you had to endure during your first year of life? A baby born in December has a different experience of life by the time July comes around, than a baby born in July who gets hit with a rush of cold after 6 months, right? How do those experiences during that crucial first year of life, affect them? And, do others who are born around the same time, end up with similar experiences and thus - similar traits? 

It doesn't sound so crazy to me! Anyway, enjoy this manic episode. I feel a thousand pounds lighter finally having done this. If I forgot you, or you didn't get back to me in time, lmk anyway so I can update the log. This info is now sacred. Now, I know how to be friends with everyone. Maybe one day it'll come in handy…
