Koa Peat Is Must Watch TV All Year - Had One Of The Best Debuts College Hoops Has Ever Seen, Destroyed Florida With A Historical Stat Line
Earlier today the Mostly Hoops guys and Tate posed this question:
It's obviously too early to tell and you start debating just college showing or how they end up in the NBA. 2011 sticks out with Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal and that group. 03 had Luol Deng, Chris Paul and Charlie Villanueva in the top-10. 07 might be the most known recently with Eric Gordon, Michael Beasley, OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose, James Harden, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Kevin Love all in the top-20. But this year you have AJ Dybantsa, Cam Boozer and Darryn Peterson as the big 3.
Well, enter Koa Peat. This is before you even get to Mikel Brown, Jasper Johnson, Darius Acuff and a bunch of others. All I know is Koa Peat ended up with the best debut we've seen in 30 years. Forget the stat line, he did it against Florida, the reigning national champs and a frontcourt regarded as the best in the sport this year. It didn't matter. He popped to that high elbow, took the shot if that was there or delivered a highlight dunk. It was incredible to watch and the main reason Arizona won this game.
He even had Bruce Pearl questioning coming out of retirement
Koa Peat - one of those guys you just have to go both name with - is instantly must watch TV. Arizona is damn good, Jaden Bradley is a closer and can score when he wants. Weird how Arizona looks better without Caleb Love out there. It's obviously game 1, but this is stuff we haven't seen in 30 years. This is stuff that you build on all year. One of the best showings in a debut you'll ever see.
