Conor McGregor Accepts 18 Month Suspension For Violating The UFC's Anti-Drug Policy, But It's Not For What You Think
Conor McGregor accepted an 18-month suspension for violating the UFC's anti-doping policy yesterday, but shockingly - it's not for failing a drug test! It's just for going off the grid three times between June and September of last year, making himself ineligible for drug tests!
This suspension is retroactively starting from the missed test dates and got reduced by six months already....
....which would make McGregor possibly eligible for the UFC card at the White House next June.
As I mentioned in my blog yesterday, Conor McGregor claims his return is already a signed, "done deal" - while Dana White disagrees and says no negotiations will even start for another 4-5 months….
….but I do think Conor McGregor headlines this event in Dana White's perfect world. That being said, I think Conor headlines a lot of events in that "perfect" world and obviously we all know how the last couple years have gone. It seems McGregor is a day-to-day kinda guy now. Some days he wants to be the President of Ireland, some days he wants to be a fighter again, other days he wants to be a whiskey salesman or a record producer or a Bare Knuckle Promoter or a bar owner. He's got a lot of different endeavors now.
Will he actually spend six months in isolation away from all distractions to prepare for his UFC return like he says?
We will see. It's hard to get your hopes up about anything involving this return now, though.
