Cam Schlittler Just Delivered One Of The Best Postseason Starts In Yankees History To Eliminate The Boston Red Sox

There have been a lot of great starts in Yankees postseason history. What Cam Schlittler did is right up there. Hell, that's as good as you're going to see from any pitcher in the playoffs, never mind someone's 15th career start in the big leagues. That was truly unbelievable. From start to finish Schlittler was magnificent. Pure dominance with every pitch. Fastball after fastball after fastball. 8 shutout. 12 strikeouts. 0 walks. Cam dog walked the Red Sox on Thursday night.
Dude pumped 100mph on his 100th pitch to end the 7th and still went back out there to get three more outs. Credit to Boone for finally managing with some feel and just riding him. And how about Ryan McMahon in the 8th putting it all on the line. Ridiculous effort
I don't have enough words to effectively describe how amazing that start was. Especially considering the state of the pen and how unreliable pretty much everyone else was outside of Devin Williams and David Bednar. Schlittler had to be good at the bare minimum in this game to give them a shot. Five innings minimum. Six was gravy. Seven, I mean come on. Eight? Get the fuck out of here. Legendary shit from a 24 year old who wasn't in the big league plans a few months ago.
Klemmer will argue there were some Yankees back in the 1800s pitching against bowling alley managers who were better than him, but to argue tooth and nail that what we just saw wasn't one of the best Yankees postseason starts we've ever seen? I mean you're just wrong.
See ya Boston. Bring on Toronto. Get yourself some merch and load up for the next war.
