Sabrina Carpenter Has Been Going Viral For Saying That "One 20 Minute Conversation In Italy Teaches You More About Life Than 20 Years In The United States"

This tweet has been going viral over the last few days and I was shocked to see it hadn't been blogged yet. Maybe it has and our search button is broken like the rest of this blog, but that's another topic for another day. Anyway, nearly everyone seemed to be calling out Sabrina here for what feels like a pretty ridiculous take. But if there was one Italian that was going to agree after seeing those photos in what my best guess is Venice, it was our resident one:

Twitter's algorithm is hilarious because that tweet has 17 million views and about a zillion replies and the first person I see is Dante saying how correct she is. Sabrina if you're reading this, give him a chance, he's a genuinely good dude and there won't be a shortage of good meals. Anyway, I don't want to get into culture wars but if you want me to believe that Sabrina Carpenter, one of the most famous musicians on the planet right now, went to a random person in Italy and had a conversation with them then I have some ice to sell you as Portnoy would say. Imagine the scene of a twenty something year old smokeshow walking up to you with like five bodyguards, a documentary film crew, and wearing some outfit that costs 10x your net worth and asking you to sit down and have a chat with her?

There's been a lot of people comparing this to when a college girl goes to her study abroad for 4 months and comes back thinking she's realized everything about life, just to spend $60,000 her senior year just at the bars

Anyway, had she just said that the conversations she had in Italy were far better than in America, I might actually have been inclined to agree with her. I suppose that depends where you live, but you walk into a coffee shop in the middle of Manhattan and ask for more than your iced vanilla latte and you're doing too much. That might change in Italy, but you're going to yield better results by being a pretty blonde girl that just happens to make good music and have a zillion dollars too.

Here's a slideshow if you don't know who Sabrina Carpenter is, and I'll be on my way:
