Jerry Jones Is 100% Correct To Not Have A Video Tribute To Micah Parsons This Week In Dallas

Pound for pound you could make the argument that Micah Parsons is the best defensive player to ever suit up for the Cowboys. All the charts and graphs and analytics, plus just watching him on the field show that he is as dominant as anyone in the league across all positions. An absolute monster of a player. So good that Jerry Jones deserves to be in the Commanders, Giants, and Eagles rings of honor simply for trading him out of the division.

But that being said, I side with Jerry on this one. Not everyone needs a video tribute when they return to their old team, especially a guy who played 4 total seasons in Dallas. It's not taking anything away from him, but he played 4 seasons and is coming to town on a Packers team that wants to absolutely destroy the Cowboys. Micah wants to eat Dak like a grizzly bear right there on the field. So maybe they keep the "I'm Coming Home" tribute video on the sidelines for right now.

The more I think of it, the less controversial this should even be. You can appreciate how good Micah was on the Cowboys without getting on your knees and blowing a guy who no longer plays for your squad. Once he retires, sure, talk about how great he was in those 4 seasons in Dallas. But right now it's war. It's Packers vs Cowboys, kill or be killed. It's not patty cake on the playground.

Jerry gets a lot of things wrong. Actually no. That isn't fair. Jerry gets 99.9999% of things wrong and I love him for it. I've often said if I had 3 wishes from a Genie, one of those wishes would be that Jerry stops aging right now and runs the Cowboys forever in the exact way he's running them now. Trading draft picks for scrubs, trading away franchise players, giving Dak a ginormous contract, it's all glorious. Jerry's brain left town many moons ago. But he's spot-on about not giving Micah a hero's welcome back to Dallas. Score one for ol' Jurrrrahhhhh.
