The NFL Actually Gets One Right, Decides Not To Suspend Jalen Carter For Any Additional Games For Hocking A Loogie On Dak Prescott

There is a world out there where the NFL caves to public pressure. That the league overreacts because of the traction this incident got on social media. It was the first game of the season, you have the defending champs taking on a division rival, and Jalen Carter vs Dak Prescott was going to be a huge matchup in that game. The fact that Jalen Carter was booted from the game before a single snap of the 2025 NFL season for spitting on Dak Prescott was the perfect storm of absurdity to become a massively viral moment. The league would have reason to want to look extra tough in this scenario, and suspend Jalen Carter for the Super Bowl rematch in week 2 vs the Kansas City Chiefs.

Luckily someone at the league office decided to turn on their brain, and slap Jalen Carter with the most sensible punishment.

A one-game suspension that was already served considering Jalen Carter was tossed from the season opener just 6-seconds into the game. Now the league gets to say that they suspended a player for spitting at an opponent. It sets the precedent of being a suspension-worthy offense. But Jalen Carter doesn't have to miss two entire games because of one loogie. All he has to do is forfeit his game check. It's not like that money is coming out of any of our pockets, so who gives a rat's ass? I'm sure Jalen Carter isn't pumped about it, but he'll also gladly take that decision over the alternative.

And now everybody gets to move on. It'll be a hilarious moment we get to just laugh about now. The Eagles won, Jalen Carter didn't have to serve any further suspensions, and Dak took a loogie to the dome. All things considered, it's a beautiful Eagles moment.
