It's Becoming Clearer By The Day That Howie Roseman Has A Trade Addiction After The Eagles Make A Move For Tank Bigsby

There's a reason there are only 32 humans on planet Earth who are NFL general managers. You need to be so good at doing what you do in order to keep your job at that level. Constantly on the ball when it comes to drafting and free agency and trades and salaries. There are so many things that go into the job that the majority of us would never be able to handle.

But every once in a while, a no-brainer comes around. A decision so easy that anybody could make it. It doesn't take a genius to pull the trigger on the move, it just takes anybody with a quarter of a functioning brain. So whenever your team has the chance to acquire a dude named "Tank", you absolutely positively have to make it happen.

It's one of those moves where you shoot first, ask questions later.

And obviously those questions would be, "well wait a minute…don't the Eagles already have a pretty full stable of running backs? You've got Saquon Barkley, AJ Dillon, and Will Shipley. The Eagles desperately need help at the corner position, so why is Howie making a move right now for another back?"

Those would be valid questions to ask yourself. One of the answers would be "shut your goddamn mouth and just trust Howie Roseman, you imbecile". Another answer could be that the Will Shipley injury is a little worse than the Eagles are letting on. The Eagles are saying the Tank Bigsby trade is for a kickoff returner, and not to fill in for Will Shipley missing any time with an injury. But a 5th and 6th round pick seems like a lot to give up for just a kick returner.

But the correct answer? The one that makes the most sense, and is likely the main driving force behind this deal? Well it's pretty clear that Howie Roseman has an addiction to trades.

That's now 5 trades in the past 4 weeks. Most GMs won't even make 5 trades during an entire season. Howie Roseman made 5 trades before week 1 of the season fully wrapped up. It's almost like he just gets bored at work, and decides to make a deal just to pass some time. He's playing the game on easy mode right now. He's won 2 Super Bowls. He's hit on his last like 20 draft picks in a row. He needs to find something to give him a quick rush during his day. So he hits the phones, scopes out a GM who is primed for getting swindled, and pulls the trigger.

Trading for Tank Bigsby isn't necessary by any stretch. The Eagles definitely don't need another running back. But that doesn't mean it's not a good deal. 900 yards and 9 touchdowns over his past 2 seasons in Jacksonville. Those are great numbers for your RB4. It's not like the Eagles are any worse today than they were yesterday before they picked up Tank Bigsby. Again, you'd hope that maybe the Eagles would focus on getting some help in the secondary right now because there are only so many more times we can watch Adoree Jackson out there. But maybe Howie Roseman just needs to grease up the wheels a bit before he really makes his biggest move.
