'Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way' - Dru Phillips Loves That The Giants Get To Prove They Finally Don't Suck Again vs The Commanders In Week 1

I'm going to go ahead and say it. Dru Phillips is a damn good football player, dare I even say a steal from last year's draft. Until he got hurt he was awesome as a rookie, I'll also say Dru Phillips is following an elite career path going from Kentucky to the Giants. But this is what we need someone like Dru Phillips to say. It's no secret the Giants have been ass lately, which may be putting it a little too kindly. It's been bad, to the point that plenty of fans stopped getting pissed off at the team and just went to apathy. That's the real rock bottom, when you can't even get pissed off at your franchise for doing dumb shit it's as low as it gets. 

Phillips is smart on how he talks here. He's not guaranteeing a win or saying anything like that. He just knows that everyone is ready to declare the Commanders as the next team up, he knows that they made the NFC title game and Jayden Daniels is a damn good quarterback. But that doesn't matter. You win week 1, you prove a point. 

It's time to finally win a game early. Can't be out here getting embarrassed when us fans finally have a glimmer of hope. Plus, there's nothing worse than knowing your NFL team is out of it and getting its ass kicked by the end of September. Just show up and do something.
