The Packers Trade For Micah Parsons Because The NFC North Wasn't Hard Enough
This is like seeing the hottest girl across the bar. Making eyes. Flirting a little and then a Nicky Smokes type comes in and takes her home while you're thinking of your next move.
Two first round picks and Kenny Clark. What a fucking steal for the Packers. That's a team who must feel like their window to win is right fucking now and they're going for it. Feels like light trade compensation for arguably the best edge in the league. I've been watching that Cowboys doc on Netflix and there's been some he said she said about who was really running the dynasty Cowboys and who made the Hershel Walker trade. I can now confidently say that Jimmy Johnson was the brains behind everything.
I am not a capologist. I don't think anyone really understands the NFL cap. All I know is that Parsons got fucking paid while the Bears have cap space and a CLEAR need the edge. My guess is that the Bears weren't really in the neighborhood for Cowboys comp or Parsons contract comp and that sucks. The division is already a fucking nightmare and now it just got MUCH worse. His little announcement video showing Reggie White didn't make me feel great either. They made that trade in the 90s and instantly got to Super Bowls. I don't know if it was the right move for the Bears in the grand scheme but it SUCKS that it was the right move for the Packers. I don't want to overreact, but it feels impossible for the Bears to finish any higher than 3rd in the division this year after this trade.
