It Is The Year Of Our Lord 2025 And Notre Dame Is Finally, Actually, About To Go uNDefeated And Win The National Championship

This was immediately after the National Championship game. Defeated, but immediately looking forward. I believe that is what every Notre Dame fan was feeling in that moment. It wasn't like getting beat by Clemson in the playoff or getting destroyed by Alabama in 2012. Those losses felt like the end. Last year felt like the beginning of something. Finally, Notre Dame was on the right path and that last game was the first step. Notre Dame now has the right coach. They've got NFL talent everywhere. They won't be overmatched by anyone. Notre Dame is among the elites right where they've always belonged. Now we go.

hit the music

For the first time that I can remember I haven't even cared to look at the depth chart. I don't care who graduated. I don't care who transfered. That's the comfort of knowing you're a program and not a team. The only big story was the QB battle. A battle between two guys so highly rated that they told Steve Angeli (who I will always love) to go play for Syracuse. I know ND has dogs at every level of the defense, the best running back in the country, weapons on the perimeter, and a head coach I wouldn't trade for anyone. Notre Dame will be Notre Dame. They're going to run the ball down your throat and make you want to die. And...now they've got a QB who can sling it too. If Notre Dame gets beat this year it won't be because they aren't talented enough.

The people (haters) always scream and cry for ND to join a conference. Notre Dame can't be in a conference because Notre Dame only cares about National Championships. That is the only goal. Undefeated. Back to the title game. Finish the job.

Week 1 @ Miami

I was stunned when Miami was a pre-season top 10. People want The U to be back so badly they always put them in the top 10. I don't think Carson Beck is good. He's certainly not as good as Cam Ward. The best thing Miami has going for them is the weather. That's not enough to stop a team that is three deep at every position. W. 1-0

Week 2 vs Texas A&M

If they couldn't do it last year with the 12th man and ND having new starters everywhere on the offensive line then they can't do it in Notre Dame Stadium. W. 2-0

Week 3 vs Purdue

It makes me sad what has happened to Purdue. They had a great run with Joe Tiller and now they're a doormat for the entire country. This will be the CJ Carr game. They'll throw it everywhere. Get some young guys experience on their way to a 40 point blowout. W. 3-0

Week 4 @ Arkansas

This is an Alonzo Mourning gif game

Giphy Images.

So random. Why is Notre Dame playing an away game against such a futile program that has been broken since Houston Nutt and Darren McFadden…but…at least it's an SEC opponent. The SEC teams can't complain about our schedule when ND has multiple SEC teams on the schedule. I hear Fayettville is a fun time. Love the Wright's BBQ guys. Going to be a tough day for them though. W. 4-0.

Week 5 vs Boise State

I just watched Boise St get their doors blown off by USF last night. Kind of needed the Broncos to look half way decent for the strength of schedule, but I guess that possibility left with Jeanty. This is looking like an easy win now. W. 5-0.

Week 6 vs NC State

NC State needed a hurricane to beat Notre Dame back in the Brian Kelly era. Not going to happen in South Bend. Notre Dame wins easy. W. 6-0

Week 7 vs USC

We had Tom Zbikowski on The Stretch this week. The memories of that USC game 20 years ago came flooding back to my head. The only time in my life where both ND and USC were good at the same time. Would be nice if USC rolled into this game undefeated themselves, but they've got games against Illinois and Michigan right before they play the Irish so we are probably looking at a top 5 team against another team fighting for bowl eligibility. Sad. I miss the rivalry. W. 7-0

Week 8 BYE

Week 9 at Boston College

Ah, little brother. A team that is competitive every 20 years or so when they have a good QB. That isn't going to be this year. Belt to ass and then pat them on their little heads as ND rolls on and they're languishing at the bottom of the ACC. W. 8-0.

Week 10 vs Navy

This game is basically the same every year. Navy will play hard and run their little hearts out of an option offense as ND's defense drowns them. W. 9-0.

Week 11 @ Pitt

Pitt falls into the same category as like Navy, BC, MSU, and Purdue. Teams that I feel like ND should fill the meat of their schedule against. A strong brand. Some good athletes. And a 30 point win for Notre Dame. W. 10-0

Week 12 vs Syracuse

Senior Day and everyone's favorite backup, Steve Angeli making his return. Fitting. Syracuse will be trying to finish above BC in the ACC. Draftkings have both with 5.5 win totals. They'll suffer the same fait. W. 11-0

Week 13 @ Stanford

Similar to USC…I miss Stanford being relevant. I used to love the battles against the Harbaugh and Shaw teams. Physical. Jumbo packages. Kind of like looking in the mirror. Always a tricky game. That was a decade ago though. No two rivals have gone further in opposite directions. Stanford is basically homeless after conference realignment and Notre Dame's home is the college football playoff. This last win cements ND's position in the top 4. W. 12-0

With that it is time to bust out the bottles. Drink like a champion today.

Book the flights for the playoff and then right back where it all started. Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The site of the National Championship game.
