"There's Entertainers And There's Competitors, My Job Is To Compete" - Browns QB Dillon Gabriel

Look I'm not saying this quote is a direct shot at Shedeur Sanders, but what I will argue until I'm blue in the face about is that there HAS TO BE a different way for Dillon Gabriel to answer a question about how to block out the media. Because "there's entertainers and then there's competitors" has way too much connection to Dan Lanning's infamous "they're fighting for clicks, we're fighting for wins" speech.

This has to be something that Gabriel once heard from Lanning, and now he's regurgitating it. Credit to Dillon for listening to his old coach. A true chip off the ol' block. But the one problem here is that while Lanning was clearly chirping the Ducks opponents in both Shedeur and Deion Sanders....now Dillon is teammates...and in a QB competition....with Shedeur.

Again I'm not saying he was directly making a point about Shedeur, but even Dillon's biggest fans should agree that this verbiage STINKS. And here's why: because the NFL tweeted about it, I'm blogging about it, and there will be plenty of talk shows starting off Monday with this quote. That's what happens when you draft someone like Shedeur. Every single thing is going to be news, and I can't help but wonder if the Browns, who are not known for having the most stable organization, are going to be able to handle all of this.
