UPDATE: New Footage Of A Hover Bike Inspired By The Star Wars Speeder Looks GOOD. The Volonaut Product Will Reach 63 MPH And Sell For $880,000
Back in May I wrote the blog above about Volonaut, a crazy company that was putting 100% of their resources & efforts into creating a real life speeder bike from Star Wars.
Bonus points for doing the test drive in a Scout Trooper outfit.
But even after verifying that footage was real, I still had my doubts whether this would ever really be a thing that was actually usable.
Until now.
First off, absolutely hilarious that immediately upon learning that speeder bikes are real.. the top comment is "weLL actUaLLY THatS NOt FaST enOuGH" Can we just enjoy this for a fucking millisecond before dumping troll juice down its throat? Goddamn.
But thank The Maker! Because everyone else in the peanut gallery had the great vibes I was looking for.
So cool that KFC is already down to drop a cool $880,000 on this piece of human innovation. It's practically living art. Definitely a great investment either way, congrats to The Basement Boys!
Hopefully all this positive publicity can keep Volonaut humming along, sounds like you can start signing up for the preorder list on August 1st. And you know what? I DON'T have a bad feeling about this. What could go wrong!
I'll close this out with a tip of the cap to the founder/inventor Tomasz Patan. He seems like the Tony Stark hybrid we always dream of seeing when it comes to mad tinkerers with highly outside the box thinking. Unknown if he's got the fat bank acount too. But he's certainly a far cry from that OceanGate douche who got everyone crushed into vapor ooze.
Hopefully Tomas takes it easy flying the ol' Jetson One around. At least for a few years.
Consider my butthole sufficiently puckered from watching those POV shots. I won't be riding any of these crazy machines anytime soon. But I will call out to The Force someday to help convince Clem & Robbie to give me a ride. That's where the fun begins! Meesa Capooooo.
PS: Give a watch to this Star Wars battle between Airsoft Fatty & Rone. Just so well made. Shout out Trey our graphics MASTER. The Force is strong with him, especially because he gave me the Rogue One Vader Death I DESERVE. And needed.
