Completely Unprompted, Paul Finebaum Goes After 'Fraudulent' Lincoln Riley

Last week's SEC Media Days were devoid of virtually any interesting moments or discussion points, but luckily one of the most notable members of the college football media made sure to kick off the Big Ten's preseason event by going after Lincoln Riley with no prompting at all. We're back.

Whatever you think of Finebaum going after RIley, it's pretty difficult to really dispute anything he said. Riley got killed by Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game with a College Football Playoff berth on the line in his first season and has put together a combined record of 15-11 in the two years since. He has nothing to show for two years of a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, didn't get anywhere near the level of production people expected from Miller Moss last year and now goes into his fourth season with a win total of 8.5 and Jayden Maiava under center, who began his career at UNLV two years ago.

I would classify Finebaum's criticisms as harsh, but fair.

This isn't the first time Finebaum has gone after the USC head coach, either. He seems to have some sort of vendetta against Riley and will take every opportunity possible to bash him until he's either proven wrong or Riley gets canned.

If Lincoln doesn't get the Trojans at least close to the Playoff conversation this year, there are definitely going to be plenty more people than just Paul Finebaum asking why USC is paying this guy $11 million a year.

This is the first time I've really gotten fired up about this upcoming season. We're finally talking some ball and shitting on coaches. We're close.
