The Most Dominant Golfer In The World - Scottie Scheffler Easily Wins The Open, Goes Into The History Books With Tiger Woods

I know everyone is making the comparison to Tiger and it's pretty unfair considering we're talking about Tiger. But Scottie is the new version of it. He's at the point where we can call tournaments over on Friday, because that's what happened here: 

The moment he made those two putts immediately after Fitzpatrick saved par on 18 on Friday, it was over. Scottie basically went into cruise control on the weekend and was starting to flirt with history. It didn't even matter that he took a double bogey today:

I think you can make the case that Scottie is currently the most dominant athlete in the world. All things considered, we're talking about an individual sport where weird shit happens and cut lines and Scottie just dominates events. It's almost boring watching him when he's dialed in like this because it was a runaway. No one ever pushed him today and frankly it wasn't even close to being a sweat. It didn't matter what people did or Harris English shooting a 66, Scottie just doesn't make mistakes. 

And if there were any doubt today it was silenced early, in fact as early as possible on the 1st hole

Li stuck it close and then Scottie did this just to show off. There's not even a whole lot to say because it was a 'boring' Scottie round. 5 birdies, that double, put everything else on the green and walked away with pars. He just has every shot in his bag and when his putter is going, he's impossible to beat. That's why he's a US Open win away from the career Grand Slam. It's absurd where we're at and how fast he turned the corner after his first win.
