Captain America: Keegan Bradley Shoots A 67 Today At The Open, Starts Talking More Like A Guy Who Is Going To Be A Playing Captain At The Ryder Cup

[Source] - Bradley confirmed he has not signed a captain’s agreement with Luke Donald and Team Europe, which outlines the rules and abilities of captains and vice-captains. Traditionally, only captains are allowed to give players advice during competitive Ryder Cup rounds, though that responsibility can be passed to a vice captain. That, presumably, could be a point of contention for both sides, as Bradley would likely want one of his vice captains to be able to give out advice while Bradley is on the course.

We're getting dangerously close to decision time and quite frankly I don't think it's that hard of a decision. Keegan Bradley has been one of the best 12 American players right now and earned a spot for the Ryder Cup. Hell, he's a good weekend away from flirting with the top-6 auto-qualifiers considering he's 9th in the Ryder Cup standings and sitting tied for 10th at The Open.

But the fact he's talking about how he hasn't signed the Captain's Agreement yet? Yeah, that's a guy who knows he may be out there as a player and letting the vice captains do the work. That, or let this guy come in for the weekend

There has not been a Ryder Cup playing captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963, but it’s happened several times in the Presidents Cup, including by Tiger Woods in 2019. Bradley said he has had multiple conversations with Woods about how he handled his duties as a captain and player that week in Australia.

Think about it. Doesn't have to do any press, can announce it last second and let Tiger walk in out of nowhere. That's how you get the Bethpage fans riled up and get in the heads of the Europeans. Bradley can still make most of the decisions but you let Tiger loom around the course and we're talking mental warfare at its finest here at the Ryder Cup. Forget setting up the course and how each team changes the course to their advantage, we gotta go even further considering we need this Ryder Cup win.

This shows how in form Bradley is right now too. Dude hasn't made the cut at The Open since 2018, goes out and fires a 67 today. He's constantly playing well and putting himself in contention at big time events.  I want him to be cocky and not be afraid to talk about being on the team. He keeps saying he'll pick himself only if it'll help the team, well, at this point it's impossible not to.
