I Am Taking Over As GM And Manager Of The Seattle Mariners Today On Barstool Gametime
Last week, I did a long stream (but not anywhere near as long as Tate's) where I took over the 2002-03 Wizards until we won a title. We did that in Year 3.
We've also won titles rebuilding the 1991-92 Orlando Magic and built an expansion team from scratch in 2024-25: The New Hampshire Granite. We've now put NBA 2k25 aside and are moving on to baseball.
The whole premise of these streams is that I don't play, only GM. The chat is crowdsourced to help make decisions. It's been a blast to do and since we are all working together towards a common goal, the chat has become an awesome community. I love doing these streams.
Now, there will be a new wrinkle as we change sports. We'll be taking over the 2025 Seattle Mariners on MLB: The Show. But instead of just being the GM, now we will be managing too.
So we'll go through every game and deciding on lineups, when to take the pitcher out, when to steal, etc. Hopefully it will be as much fun as the NBA 2k25 streams.
Today, we'll focus on the GM aspects of the job though as we make trades and free agent movies to put the Mariners in the best position to win this year. We'll be on the Barstool Gametime YouTube at 3 PM. We'll start managing games tomorrow and Thursday (also at 3).
Obviously, our core goal today will be to improve the lineup. That pitching staff is pretty stacked. Who would you try to trade for to make the Mariners better?
