Mia Khalifa Went Mega Viral Dunking On Comic Book Nerds With The Best Breakdown Possible Of The Differences Between Batman & Superman
"not to get too deep, but yeah that’s the point. Clark isn’t human, but the unconditional love from his adopted parents humanized him. Bruce lost that love early in life, and it de-humanized him for a bit. He finds his way through it and heals in some adaptations, but it requires hanging up the cape and cowl"
The new 'Superman' movie has gotten a ton of positive reviews but as is tradition, also inspired plenty of comic book strife online. I generally try to avoid entering those kind of debates because it always devolves into a never ending pissing contest.
But I never expected to see Mia Khalifa become the hero we needed and deserved to defend the shield on social media. She shoved that piss right back into the proverbial penis. And I'll fully admit I don't have a vast knowledge around every iteration of Batman & Superman, kinda tough to do when they've both been flying around since 1939. However, I am fully behind Mia when it comes to her take on their ability to accept love here.
Basically how 'Dark Knight Rises' ended with Bruce finally finding peace by not being Batman... Fer-nay Bran-cah.
You can always dig deeper into comic book lore, which is truly a gift & a curse, but as far as straightforward summaries go it really is a great take from Ms. Khalifa.
And against all odds, the internet... agreed?
Either way I just wanna celebrate that DC movies are fun AND good again, with some actual hope in our midst for the next decade of James Gunn's new universe. My only complaint leaving the theatre last week was that I'd never get to see that Superman fuck around with Robert Battinson in a World's Finest movie. Fucking NEED that brother.
But let's not focus on the negatives right now. Let's just thank Mia Khalifa for being our watchful protector and teaching us all something about love today.
We needed & deserved it.
