Apparently The Cavs Reached Out To Rich Paul About Making A Trade For LeBron James

At first when I saw "ScoopB" was the one with the sources, I figured I'd let this slide. But if Yahoo is posting about it now, then I'm giving my thoughts on it. The word around the internet streets is that LeBron James and the Lakers are much closer to a breakup than anyone first though, and from the news broke of that story through this weekend, 4 teams have reached out to Rich Paul about trading for LeBron James. Maybe that's why the relationship is rocky? Wouldn't you reach out to the Laker first....? Either way, I could not care less about the Mavericks (although that would be interesting with Kyrie), the Warriors (although that would be interesting for the legacy as that was his main competitor), and the Clippers (although that would be interesting because he'd be going from LA to LA). The point of this blog is because there's a team in this report that would probably break the internet should they find a way to get LeBron back on their roster. Of course I'm talking about the Cleveland Cavaliers, and that would be The Return of the King: Part 2 (Stint #3).

Before I give my thoughts on the idea of trading for him or waiting for a buyout or what not, let's address the obvious: LeBron wants us to talk about this and LeBron wants this to happen. He has left "Not 1".....

"Not 2".....

"Not 3"…..

….clues showing how he's in northeast Ohio to get the media stirring. And if you know LeBron like I do, everything is calculated. Now sometimes the calculations miss by a hundred miles, but they always have a plan. And the plan here is clear: leak how you're unhappy with the Lakers and there's dissension….and then get the Cavs fanbase to force a move for him to come home.

But here's my thing, as long as we're all on the same page here then fine. LeBron does not want to come home because it's "home". He's made it abundantly clear multiple times that he does not care for Cleveland like it's his home. He's from Akron, and while many don't differentiate between the two that are 20 minutes apart, he has and he does. He only came back to Cleveland the first time because we had a path to win a title and he'd only be coming back this time because it's the exact same. We have talent. The East is weak. And he wants to jump on the bandwagon and win one more. The fact that he'd be "coming home" is a cherry on top narrative to mask the fact that he's ring chasing again.

Okay, those are my thoughts. Do I want him? Eh, I'd really like to win one without him. And I really really don't want to give anything important up to bring him in and then let him run the franchise. Sure, we could be successful for a year or two, but where does he ever leave a place better than he found it? So yeah, I'd rather not….but if you can find me a buyout and we don't have to move our young core and he doesn't have say in roster decisions and we win another title, fine…I'll take him. But let's just be clear he's going to where he thinks he can win, not home.
